How To Get To Heaven
We Have Good News!I Corinthians 15:1-4
“…I declare unto you the gospel… by which also ye are saved… how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures!”
“The Gospel” means “Good News”!
Specifically here, the good news is that we can be saved!
“…Christ died for our sins…”
1. Sins
The PROBLEM that every person has is found in Romans 3:23:
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
2. Death
The PENALTY for sin is made plain in Romans 6:23 and Revelation 20:14:
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death”
Revelation 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire, this is the second death.”
3. Christ
The PAYMENT for sin that is offered to every person is also found in Romans 6:23:
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, BUT the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Jesus came to earth as a man, and lived a perfect, sinless life. When He died on the cross, He became the perfect substitute for sinful mankind. He then gloriously came back to life, conquering sin, death, and the lake of fire on our behalf!
John 3:16-18
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
This is GOOD NEWS indeed!
Despite our sin PROBLEM and its just PENALTY, God lovingly provided a means for full PAYMENT to be made by the finished work of Jesus Christ on our behalf. This is a gift that you must decide to accept by faith!
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Won’t You Turn From Self-Dependance And Accept God’s Gift Of Salvation Today?
